The Kano State Police Command has confirmed that seven members of a family – a 35-year-old housewife and her six children – were killed in a brutal attack on their residence in ÆŠorayi Charanchi (also known as Charanchi) Quarters of Kano metropolis yesterday. The United Nations Children’s Fund UNICEF Nigeria has raised an alarm about the urgent need for widespread vaccination against the unprecedented outbreak of diphtheria. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has released two new publications, “Freedom from tobacco and nicotine: guide for schools,” and “Nicotine- and tobacco-free school toolkit” to help protect children’s health.
