Flood: UNICEF raises alarm, says more than 1.5 million children at risk in Nigeria

As the devastating floods  wreck havoc across Nigeria,  United Nations Children Education Funds says more than 2.5 million people in Nigeria are in need of humanitarian assistance, 60 per cent of which are children and are at increased risk of waterborne diseases, drowning and malnutrition. 122m Nigerians at risk of contracting Neglected Tropical Diseases – Health Ministry

The Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) says no fewer than 122 million people in Nigeria are at risk of getting Neglected Tropical Disease (NTDs). Dr Chukwuma Anyaike, Director and National Coordinator of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) Control/Elimination/Eradication Programme at  the FMoH , made the disclosure on Thursday  at a two-day media dialogue at Ibadan.
