The Kano State Police Command has confirmed that seven members of a family – a 35-year-old housewife and her six children – were killed in a brutal attack on their residence in ÆŠorayi Charanchi (also known as Charanchi) Quarters of Kano metropolis yesterday.

Initial reports had suggested that four people were killed during the incident, with claims that an infant was thrown into a well. However, Police authorities later clarified that the death toll was higher, confirming that all six children of the woman were among the victims.
The state Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, described the incident as horrific and deeply regrettable, vowing that a thorough investigation has been launched to identify and apprehend those responsible. He said the Command is treating the case with utmost seriousness.
The attackers have yet to be identified, and the motive behind the assault remains unknown. Security agencies are continuing investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The killings have sent shockwaves through the ÆŠorayi Chiranchi community, with residents describing the attack as unprecedented and expressing fear and grief over the loss. Many have called for increased security presence in the area and swift justice for the victims.
