Nasarawa State House of Assembly has expressed worry of over the increasing rate of kidnapping in communities across the state. Muhammad Oyanki, Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, raised the alarm on the high rate of kidnapping under matter of public interest and was deliberated upon by members during plenary on Monday in Lafia. Diphtheria: UNICEF Nigeria raises alarm over unprecedented outbreak, advocates urgent vaccination

The United Nations Children’s Fund UNICEF Nigeria has raised an alarm about the urgent need for widespread vaccination against the unprecedented outbreak of diphtheria. The outbreak has so far resulted in over 11,500 suspected cases, more than 7,000 confirmed cases, and claimed the lives of 453 people, mostly children. Flood: UNICEF raises alarm, says more than 1.5 million children at risk in Nigeria

As the devastating floods  wreck havoc across Nigeria,  United Nations Children Education Funds says more than 2.5 million people in Nigeria are in need of humanitarian assistance, 60 per cent of which are children and are at increased risk of waterborne diseases, drowning and malnutrition. CSO raises alarm over non-payment of NDDC foreign scholars

The Act for Positive Transformation Initiative, a Civil Society Organisation (CSO), has raised alarm over the delay in the payment of Nigerian scholars abroad by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). The CSO, in a statement issued by Kolawole Johnson, Head, Directorate of Research, Strategy and Programme, drew the attention of President Muhammadu Buhari to the non-payment of the scholars.
