Kano: Death toll from gas explosion rises to nine

The death toll from a gas explosion that occurred in the Sabon-Gari area of Kano metropolis yesterday has risen to nine, according to emergency officials. Bandits kill seven people, abduct traditional ruler in Kano

No fewer than seven persons were killed by suspected bandits at Karfi community, in Takai local government area of Kano State. Residents said the gunmen also abducted the head of the community and injured three others. Kano-born atheist, Mubarak Bala, has been sentenced to 24 years imprisonment after pleading guilty to all the 18-count charges leveled against him.
