A teenager, Hamza Yahaya, has threatened to jump from the popular Kofar Nasarawa flyover bridge in Kanos ancient city if President Muhammadu Buhari did not resign.

As passers-by stopped to take a glimpse of the scenario on Friday, Hamzas actions created a scene beneath the bridge connecting the Emir of Kanos palace and State road.
It was gathered that the one-man protest could not be unrelated to the countrys economic situation or hardship. It took the intervention of the Kano State Fire Service officials to rescue Hamza from the bridges pavement. The officials were seen at the scene as well as passers-by wondering what might have prompted such action.
An eyewitness and resident of Kofar Nasarawa, Abdullahi Madugu, who confirmed the development to newsmen, said he was on his way to Friday Jumaat prayers when he was accosted by the incident.
When contacted, the spokesperson of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Yusif denied claims that Hamza threatened to commit suicide or President Buhari resigns. Similarly, the spokesperson of Kano Police Command, SP Abdullahi Haruna, was contacted, but he promised to investigate the matter.

Reaction trailed on social media, as one Ifeanyi V @Vani posted: Even in the western world, they no go send you. You think Biden will resign if someone climbs the Empire State Building and said he will jump unless he resigns? Or someone will climb the Eiffel Tower so that Macron must resign? Them go arrest you, whether you jump or not”

The election cycle will be affected, everything will change”. Another post by @Chris Nevo read: “If he comes down after Buhari is impeached, he will likely climb back again if Tinubu is elected”.
