The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), on Tuesday, confirmed the death of 18 persons in an auto crash that occurred in Dutse local government area of Jigawa state. The FRSC spokesperson in the state, Corps Route Commander, Yahaya Ibrahim,  in an issued statement in Dutse yesterday, said that the accident, which involved two Volkswagen cars and a tipper, was caused by excessive speeding and tyre burst. A tea vendor in Jigawa State, Abdulrashibu Yau, has allegedly killed a 20-yr-old boy for allegedly stealing from him. 40-yr-old Yau was said to have beaten the deceased identified as Hassan Garba to death for allegedly stealing his goods. The Sokoto State government has earmarked N6.7billion for the feeding of poor and underprivileged persons in the state during the 30-day Ramadan fast. Jigawa: 35-yr-old man commits suicide over hardship

A 35-year-old man, identified as Sama’ila Ilu, has committed suicide over hardship in Jigawa State. Spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, said the incident happened on Thursday. The PPRO stated that Samailas body was discovered hanging from a tree with a rope. A team of police officers took the corpse and transported it to the hospital for autopsy. The body was later released to his relatives for burial, the spokesperson added.
