Jigawa spent N500m on toilets – Commissioner

The Jigawa State government says it has spent N500 million on the provision of improved latrines in schools, hospitals, markets and motor parks across the state. The Commissioner for Water Resources, Ibrahim Hannungiwa, who said this on Wednesday in Dutse, the State capital, also noted that the government had adopted pro-active measures to ensure the sustainability of its leading position as an ‘Open Defecation Free’ (ODF) State. Kaduna gets bamboo toilets to combat open defecation

An environmentalist, Ibrahim Salisu, has constructed an eco-friendly bamboo toilet and bathroom which can last for many years. 997 communities are open defecation free in Kaduna – Official

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), has supported 997 communities to be declared Open Defecation Free (ODF), in 2020, out of the 750 targeted for the year.
