The Jigawa State Government yesterday ordered the immediate closure of public and private schools in the state due to insecurity. The Police, in Jigawa State, have arrested 14 kidnappers who recently killed two police officers and kidnapped a businessman. Jigawa State governor, Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar, has approved the recruitment of 270 herdsmen as additional teachers in the nomadic schools in the State. According to a press statement by the special adviser to the governor on Media and Publicity, Habibiu Nuhu Kila, in Dutse, the State capital, the governor approved the establishment of 200 additional nomadic schools across the State.
