The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has excluded the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Labour Party (LP) from participating in the forthcoming Rivers State House of Assembly bye-election scheduled for February 21, 2026. The Commission released the final list of candidates for the bye-election covering Ahoada East Constituency 2 and Khana Constituency 2, confirming that 12 candidates from seven political parties met the requirements to contest. The All Progressive Congres APC has been declared winner of the Lere House of Representatives Federal Constituency by-election in Kaduna State. APC beats the People’s Democratic Party PDP by polling 33, 958 votes. Declaring the results, the retuning officer, Professor Wada Ademu of University of Jos said the PDP came second with 16, 271 votes while the YPP came distance third by polling 294 votes. The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) on Wednesday said it had concluded all arrangements to conduct a by-election for Lere Federal Constituency in Kaduna State.
