The wide celebrations from the victory of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) following the excellent run in the Sabon-Gari constituency bye-election may have been cut short, following a court injunction by the High Court of Justice Kaduna State, in the Zaria Judicial Division.
Recall that the High Court, as at 1st July, 2021 had successfully served an order of interim Injunction restraining the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assemble from swearing-in the newly elected member of the House of Assembly on the basis of irregularities in the build-up to his emergence as flag bearer of the PDP.
According to the Order, the return date for the hearing of the motion on notice and subsequent processes shall be on the 4th day of August, 2021.
