Ukrain says it repelled drone attack on Odessa

Ukraine said on Monday that it had repelled a major Russian drone attack on the Black Sea region of Odessa overnight. The air defence of the southern Ukrainian region shot down nine drones, military governor Oleh Kiper wrote on Telegram. In the harbour area, falling debris damaged the roof of a building and caused a fire, which has since been extinguished, Kiper wrote. At first, there was no information about possible victims. Gunmen abduct 11 passengers after attack on another Benue Links vehicle

Gunmen on Sunday night attacked a Benue Links passenger bus and abducted at least 11 persons, multiple sources said on Monday. The driver of the vehicle and four passengers were however said to have escaped after the attack which occurred at about 10pm along Ogbokolo-Otukpa road in Okpokpwu Local Government Area of Benue. Bandits Attack: NSCDC hands over corpses to families of personnel in Kaduna

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kaduna State Command, on Saturday handed over the remaining four corpses of its personnel killed by bandits to their families for burial. Seven personnel and five others  were killed by bandits in an ambush in Kuriga village in Birnin Gawri Local Government Area of the state on Monday. The man who allegedly stabbed Salman Rushdie on stage at an event in New York said he was surprised to learn the renowned author was alive following the attack.
