On a sad note, the death has occurred of elder statesman Alhaji Abbas Dabo Sambo today morning at the age of 91.
Born on September 16, 1935, in Anguwan Juma ward, Zaria, Alhaji Abbas Dabo Sambo started his civil service career from the colonial era. He was former administrator of the Kaduna Capital Territory, former capital of the Northern Nigerian Government in the 1960s. He was also a divisional officer of the Jos and Hadejiya Division in the same year.
He was also a former permanent secretary in the defunct North Central State of Nigeria, later named Kaduna State from 1969. He was also the chairman of the Federal Government Public Accounts Committee in the 1980s.
Funeral prayer will hold at Old Unguwan Rimi Jumma’at Mosque by 2pm today
He is survived by a wife and 14 children.
