On a sad note, the death has occurred of elder statesman Alhaji Abbas Dabo Sambo today morning at the age of 91. Born on September 16, 1935, in Anguwan Juma ward, Zaria, Alhaji Abbas Dabo Sambo started his civil service career from the colonial era. He was former administrator of the Kaduna Capital Territory, former capital of the Northern Nigerian Government in the 1960s. Slain Nasarawa APC chairman Shekwo laid to rest

Slain Nasarawa State All Progressives Congress (APC), Chairman Philip Shekwo was buried on Friday in his home town, Yelwa, Toto Local Government Area amid tears by family and sympathisers. Shekwo was buried at about 2:20 p.m. at his residence in accordance with Christian rites. Burial of former Malian President scheduled for Nov. 20

The remains of former Malian President, Amadou Toumani Touré, will arrive in Bamako on Friday and the national funeral will take place on November 20, according to a source close to the family. The source said the burial will be witnessed by several national and foreign personalities.
