A major political shift has hit Kano State, as an APC woman leader, Hajiya Sabuwa Tarai and more than 100 of her supporters have defected to the New Nigeria People’s Party, (NNPP). The group moved from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Tarai, Kibiya local government area, and pledged full support to Governor Abba Kabir-Yusuf’s administration. Customs recruitment: Kano Assembly protest, alleges lopsided slots for Lagos, S’West

The Kano State House of Assembly has accused the Nigeria Customs Service, (NCS), of bias in its on-going recruitment, alleging that Lagos and other South-West states received far more slots than the entire northern region. The management of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) has urged the Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) to immediately restore electricity supply to the facility.
