Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has congratulated the Emir of Kano, Khalifa Muhammadu Sanusi II, on the successful completion of his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, yesterday walked more than one kilometre from his palace to the Eid prayer ground, foregoing the traditional horseback procession associated with the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.  This came after the Emir suspended the 2025 Sallah Durbar on Thursday, citing credible threats to his life. The Kano Emirs Palace, ?ofar Kudu, is under heavy security, as armed police and State Security Service (SSS) operatives block entry and exit.
