A Federal High Court sitting in Kano yesterday sacked the Chairman of the State’s Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC), Sani Malumfashi, for being a member of the ruling New Nigeria Peoples Party, (NNPP). The case was filed by Aminu Tiga and the All Progressive Congress, (APC). The defendants in the suit are the State Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Haruna Dederi, and 14 others. Yobe and Kano State governments have relaxed the twenty-four-hour curfew imposed on several towns. Recall that the State governments have imposed curfews after the ongoing protests against economic hardship were hijacked by hoodlums who resulted in looting and destructing properties.
