The International Committee of the Red Cross, (ICRC), says more than 23,659 people remain missing in Nigeria, leaving 13,595 families in anguish, most of them women struggling with uncertainty and hardship. As 30 August marks International Day of the Disappeared, nearly 44,000 people across Africa are registered as missing with Nigeria having nearly 23,000 on the register of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) caseload of missing people in the continent, driven almost entirely by the conflict in the northeast of the country.
