Gunmen kill police, kidnap Chinese expatriate in Ekiti

The police command in Ekiti has confirmed the killing of a police officer as gunmen allegedly abducted a Chinese expatriate in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital. The abductee was one of the engineers working with the Chinese company handling the new Ado-Iyin road. 17,602 teachers to sit 2020 qualifying examination; Jigawa, Ekiti excluded – TRCN

No fewer than 17,606 teachers across the country are to sit for the 2020 qualifying examinations billed for November 12 -14, the Registrar and Chief Executive of the Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), Professor Josiah Ajiboye, has said Ajiboye, who announced this at a news conference on Tuesday in Abuja, said that Osun state tops the list with 1,727 candidates, followed by Adamawa, 1,623 candidates, Nasarawa State 934 candidates and the FCT with 850 candidates. COVID-19: Wedding guests take to their heels as taskforce shuts down hotel in Ekiti

Operatives of the Ekiti State Task Force on COVID-19 have shut down a popular hotel in Ado Ekiti for violating COVID-19 directives. An elaborate wedding party attended by a large crowd of guests in which physical distancing was not observed landed the hotel in trouble.
