Tragedy struck yesterday morning when an explosion ripped through the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) Ordnance Factory disposal pit in Kaduna, killing one staff member and leaving several others injured. The incident occurred around 10 a.m. while specialists were concluding the destruction of expired ordnance materials, including primer caps, propellants, and other chemical components that had exceeded their lifespans. Reps summon security agencies Heads over refusal to patronise DICON

The House of Representatives Committee on Defence has summoned Heads of security agencies in the country over their refusal to buy arms and ammunition from the Defence Industry Corporation of Nigeria, (DICON). Rep. Taofeek Ajilesoro (PDP-Osun) moved the motion when the DICONs Director-General, Maj.-Gen. Hassan Tafida, appeared before the committee to defend the 2022 budget performance and 2023 Budget proposal. Army launches 1st Nigerian-made AK-47 in Kaduna

The Nigeria Army has launched its first homemade AK-47, codenamed OBJ006, by the military in Kaduna. According to reports, the guns are massively produced by the Defence Industries Corporation, (DICON), with the same capability as the real AK-47.
