The Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has defended the National Assembly’s decision to adopt a hybrid system for transmitting election results, saying the move is necessary to prevent voter disenfranchisement ahead of the 2027 general elections. Civil Society Organisation Yiaga Africa, has called on Kaduna state Government, political parties, agencies and various stakeholders on legislative reforms for improved local government election in Nigeria, to inspire public confidence in the electoral processes. Borno to reform Almajiri system, inaugurates 14-Member C’ttee

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno on Wednesday inaugurated a 14-Member Committee on reforming the Islamic Tsangaya system of education, otherwise known as the Almajiri system in the state. Inaugurating the committee in Maiduguri, Zulum said that transforming the Almajiri system was part of the state 25-year Development Plan, launched recently.
