Political parties and candidates in Ondo State have signed a peace accord ahead of the 16th November governorship election. The signing, which took place on Friday in Akure, the State capital, was organised by the National Peace Committee, headed by former Head of State, AbdulSalami Abubakar. Gombe Council Polls: Police assure of security for Saturday’s exercise

The police command in Gombe State, has assured of adequate security, ahead of Saturday’s local government councils poll. Mr Hayatu Usman, the State Commissioner of Police, stated this in an interview in Gombe on Friday. He said that adequate personnel had been made deployed to all the 11 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state to ensure that the election was hitch-free. Polls open in Ghana’s presidential and parliamentary elections

Polls officially opened on Monday in Ghana’s presidential and parliamentary elections under strict COVID-19 protocols. Long queues formed at the polling stations long before voting began at 0700 GMT. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC) says it has deployed no fewer than 7,079 personnel and 60 sniffer dogs to provide adequate security for the  Oct. 10 Ondo State governorship election.
