Prices of the commodities at Gombe Central and Tudun-Hatsi grain markets have dropped by about 15 percent in the past two weeks. According to reports by newsmen who visited the markets yesterday, traders are facing a market glut amid low patronage. It was gathered that a 100kg bag of maize was sold at ₦53,000; as against its old price of N62,000. The police command in Gombe State, has assured of adequate security, ahead of Saturday’s local government councils poll. Mr Hayatu Usman, the State Commissioner of Police, stated this in an interview in Gombe on Friday. The Gombe State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has affirmed the re-election of Governor Inuwa Yahaya of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Delivering judgement on Tuesday in Gombe, the three-man panel headed by Justice S.B. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed two persons dead and six others injured in three separate car crashes that occurred along Gombe by-pass towards Pantami community on Friday.
