NMA declares strike over doctors death in Lagos hospital

The Lagos State Chapter of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) yesterday declared an indefinite strike over the demise of their female colleague, Dr. Diaso Vwaere. Recall that Dr Vwaere died as a result of injuries sustained when she was trapped in an elevator at the Lagos General Hospital for more than 40 minutes. First trans-shipment vessel arrives Lekki Port

The management of the Lekki Deep Seaport has announced that Rimbaud has become the first transshipment vessel to berth at the port in Lagos. Making this known in a series of tweets yesterday, the port management said the ship, operated by CMA CGM, has a Length Overall of 270m, a breadth of 42.8m and 6,900 Taus capacity. Lagos State has been ranked the fourth worst City to live-in in the world, according to the Economic Intelligences (EIU) Global Liveability Index 2023 report. The EIUs index quantifies the challenges presented to an individuals lifestyle in 173 cities worldwide. In the report, Lagos ranked 170 of 173, making it the fourth worst city to live in the world. A seven-storey building has collapsed at Banana Island in Lagos State. The building, located in the posh neighbourhood of the State, is under construction when it collapsed with many workers are trapped beneath the rubble.
