Kwara shuts 10 schools over Hijab policy

The Kwara State government has directed immediate temporary closure of some grant-aided schools in Ilorin, the State capital, pending the resolution of the hijab question in the schools. Kwara: Five killed as soldiers, drivers clash

Five civilians were reportedly killed and others injured in a clash between soldiers and commercial drivers caused by disagreement over alleged extortion of money at a military checkpoint on the border route in Ilesha-Baruba, Baruten local government area of Kwara State. Kwara State govt. begins recruitment of 4,701 teachers

The Kwara State government has approved the employment of 4,701 teachers in the State. This is contained in a statement issued by the Press Secretary, Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Yakub Aliagan. Applicants, the ministry said, must have a Nigeria Certificate in Education, (NCE), with at least five O’ Level Credit passes in Mathematics, English, and three other relevant subjects in not more than two sittings. Court orders EFCC to return Saraki’s houses

The Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to return the two houses forfeited temporarily to the Federal Government to former Senate President, Bukola Saraki. The court on Thursday reversed its order of interim forfeiture of the Ilorin properties to the Federal Government.
