Kaduna State Government has intervened in the on-going industrial dispute between Kaduna Electric and its workers’ union, which has resulted in power outage in all its franchise States for four days. The State’s Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, who hosted the meeting at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House yesterday, pleaded with the union to restore electricity to consumers as soon as possible, saying the outage has impacted negatively across all sectors. Kaduna Electric workers begin indefinite strike over planned sack of 900 staff

Staff members of the Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, (KADECO), have embarked on an indefinite strike in protest against the management’s alleged plan to dismiss over 900 workers. The workers are also demanding the payment of five years’ outstanding pensions to retirees, better work tools, promotions for deserving employees, and implementation of the 2024 National Minimum Wage. Additional grievances include the non-payment of death benefits to families of deceased staff, improper placement of employees, lack of electricity rebates, and failure to recognize long-serving workers. Kaduna Electric begins meter installation in some communities

The Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, (Kaduna Electric), says it is installing electricity meters in some parts of the State under the Federal Governments National Mass Metering Programme (NMMP) and will capture 50 communities under 10 feeders in Kaduna in this phase.  It was reported that some meters have been installed already at MPH Estate, Millennium City and High Cost, Barnawa, all within Kaduna metropolis. Four states plunged into darkness as National Grid collapses again

Some parts of the country have been plunged into total blackout following the collapse of the nations power grid. Four states in the North West zone were thrown into darkness following the collapse.
