Tribunal upholds Inuwa Yahaya’s election, dismisses PDP, ADC’s petitions

The Gombe State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has affirmed the re-election of Governor Inuwa Yahaya of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Delivering judgement on Tuesday in Gombe, the three-man panel headed by Justice S.B. Belgore, dismissed the petitions filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Jibril Barde and that of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its candidate, Nafiu Bala, challenging Yahayas victory in the March 18 election. Kaduna loses former Attorney General

The death has occurred of Barrister Rabo Barde a former Attorney General and commissioner of Justice in Kaduna State. The deceased was also former Commissioner Legal services, State Independent Electoral Commission and Peoples Democratic Party PDP Legal adviser. Barrister Rabo Barde died in his bed while recovering from an undisclosed ailment on the January 3rd 2022 aged 72. He is survived by five children and four Grand children.
