COVID-19: NCDC confirms 343 new infections

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 343 new infections of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) in the country. The NCDC made this known via its verified website. The agency also reported two additional COVID-19-related deaths, bringing the total number of fatalities in the country to 1,179. At least eight inmates were killed and 50 others injured after prison officers used force to disperse a violent riot at the Mahara prison in a suburb of Colombo, the media reported on Monday.
