…Harps on collaborative security

The Commissioner of Police, Taraba State Command, CP Edwin Ogbeghagha, on Monday, received separate courtesy visits from the Garrison Commander of 10 Division Nigerian Army, Brig. Gen. M.A. Oloyede, the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Safe School Club, and the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS), Taraba State Chapter, at the Command Headquarters in Jalingo.
The visits, according to the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Victor Mshelizah, were aimed at strengthening partnerships, enhancing inter-agency cooperation and promoting joint efforts towards ensuring the safety of lives and property in Taraba State.
Speaking during the visit, Brig. Gen. Oloyede said his visit was to further consolidate the existing cordial relationship and operational synergy between the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force in tackling security challenges in the state.
Responding, CP Ogbeghagha reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining robust inter-agency cooperation, intelligence sharing and joint operations, noting that collaboration remains vital to safeguarding lives and ensuring lasting peace.
Similarly, the PCRC Safe School Club delegation outlined its objectives of building partnerships with educational authorities, training school safety volunteers and promoting safety awareness in schools, while ASUSS discussed measures to improve safety of teachers, students and school facilities.
CP Ogbeghagha commended both groups, assuring them of the Command’s full support towards implementing safety programmes in schools and reiterated that security is a collective responsibility requiring partnership and timely information sharing.
