Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has issued a strong warning to his former political mentor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, cautioning him against what he described as repeated provocative comments directed at him.

The Governor said he may be compelled to publicly respond if the remarks continue, warning that doing so could reveal issues that have remained unspoken.
In a viral video circulating online, Yusuf was quoted as saying: “Tell them they are talking too much. Enough is enough. If they don’t stop, I will open my mouth and it will smell like hell”.
He also expressed displeasure over what appeared to be Kwankwaso’s repeated references to him as a ‘boy’, questioning the appropriateness of such comments. “I wonder why a 69-year-old person will continuously be calling a 63-year-old a boy. This is unacceptable”, the governor stated.
Since his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Yusuf had largely avoided publicly attacking his former political ally. Instead, he had consistently urged supporters to refrain from social media confrontations and inflammatory exchanges.
