Ali Ndume, the former Senate Leader, has secured the senatorial ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Borno-South senatorial district, positioning him for a fifth term bid in the Nigerian Senate.

Ndume emerged as the party’s candidate through an unopposed affirmation process conducted during the APC primary election held in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
The affirmation exercise, attended by party officials and delegates, reportedly proceeded without opposition as Ndume remained the sole aspirant for the ticket in the senatorial district. Party members at the venue endorsed his candidacy, effectively clearing the path for him to represent the APC in the forthcoming general election.
The development further strengthens Ndume’s political standing in Borno-South, where he has maintained a significant presence over the years. He has represented the district in the Senate for multiple terms and remains one of the prominent political figures from Nigeria’s North-East region.
Ndume previously served as Senate Leader and has been active in legislative matters relating to security, governance and national development.
