The resolution was sequel to a unanimous adoption of a motion by Rep. Kabiru Rurum (APC-Kano state) at the plenary on Wednesday. Ummitta Murder: Kano Court remands Chinese lover in Correctional Custody

A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Kano, on Wednesday, ordered that a 47-year-old Chinese National, Geng Quanrong, be remanded in a correctional centre for alleged murder of his Nigerian girlfriend, Ummukulsum Sani, 22. The police charged Geng, who lives in Nassarawa GRA Quarters Kano, with culpable homicide. Chief Magistrate, Hanif Sanusi-Chiroma, who did take the plea of Geng, ordered that he should be remanded in Kurmawa Correctional Centre, pending legal advice. A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Masaka, Nasarawa, on Wednesday, ordered that a 46-year-old man, Lucky Adalaki, be remanded in Keffi correction centre for allegedly biting off the outer ear part of one Tunde Adedeji. Cambodia’s anti-drug police have arrested a local man for possessing and trafficking narcotics, confiscating 18.3 kg of illicit drugs, the National Police said on Thursday.
