The House of Representatives has urged the Inspector General of Police (I-G) to direct a thorough investigation into alleged killing of Miss Ummulkulthum Buhari, by a Chinese national, Mr Geng Quanrong in Kano. The resolution was sequel to a unanimous adoption of a motion by Rep. Kabiru Rurum (APC-Kano state) at the plenary on Wednesday. Ummitta Murder: Kano Court remands Chinese lover in Correctional Custody

A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Kano, on Wednesday, ordered that a 47-year-old Chinese National, Geng Quanrong, be remanded in a correctional centre for alleged murder of his Nigerian girlfriend, Ummukulsum Sani, 22. The police charged Geng, who lives in Nassarawa GRA Quarters Kano, with culpable homicide. Chief Magistrate, Hanif Sanusi-Chiroma, who did take the plea of Geng, ordered that he should be remanded in Kurmawa Correctional Centre, pending legal advice. A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Masaka, Nasarawa, on Wednesday, ordered that a 46-year-old man, Lucky Adalaki, be remanded in Keffi correction centre for allegedly biting off the outer ear part of one Tunde Adedeji. The police charged Adalaki with causing grievous hurt. Cambodia’s anti-drug police have arrested a local man for possessing and trafficking narcotics, confiscating 18.3 kg of illicit drugs, the National Police said on Thursday.
