Breaking; PDP Congress: Court puts Kaduna Exercise on hold

An Abuja Federal High Court has restrained the Peoples Democratic Party PDP Kaduna State chapter and the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC from conducting the state congress to elect new executives for the party.

Five aggrieved members of the PDP in Kaduna State obtained an exparte order from the Federal High Court, restraining the party and INEC) from holding the state congress and elections scheduled for tomorrow  Saturday September 21, 2024 pending the determination of motion on notice for interlocutory injunction. 

The exparte-motion was filed by counsel to the aggrieved party members, M. A. Mahmud SAN.

The senior silk in a letter to the INEC chairman, dated September 18, asked the commission to restrain itself from participating and monitoring the state congress, scheduled to hold tomorrow Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the International Trade fair Complex, Kaduna.

The aggrieved members of the PDP who filed the case are; Nura Waziri, Mutari Shuiabu, Yusuf Suleiman, Malam Mansur Alassan and Ja’afar Abubakar.
