State Congress: Kaduna PDP says exercise holds as scheduled, no court order

Kaduna State Peoples Democratic Party PDP says it is not aware of any court order restraining it from conducting its Congress and it would hold as scheduled tomorrow Saturday 21st September, 2024.

The State Caretaker Committee Chairman of the  Party, Felix Hassan Hyat, says the rumours going round that that the schedule State Congress slated for tomorrow Saturday 21st September, 2024 has been postponed is false.

A statement by Abraham Albera Catoh, a member of the state caretaker committee says the party wish to categorically State that the State Congress will still go on as scheduled, calling on all Party men and women to disregard the rumour, as all necessary preparations for the Congress was in progress. 

The statement called on all party officials and delegates to the State Congress to come all out for the Congress tomorrow. 

Some five members of the party in the state via their counsel M.A. Mahmud SAN had earlier issued a statement asserting there was an expert injunction from a Federal high Court in Abuja stopping the PDP in Kaduna State and the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC from conducting the congress.
