A presidential aspirant under the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, (NNPP), Olufemi Ajadi, has withdrawn from the 2023 race, to support the former Kano State governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Ajadi, who confirmed the development before a mammoth crowd of party supporters and other Nigerians at the NUJ secretariat, Okelewo, Abeokuta, Ogun State, said he has stepped down to be the running mate of Kwakwaso, who is also eyeing the presidential seat.
The aspirant said this was done in the interest of the party and the nation, saying, “Senator Kwankwaso is a great Nigerian, an accomplished politician and administrator who will lift this country”.
Speaking about the state of the nation, Ajadi regretted that nothing was working well in the nation.
Describing the event as epochal, he said it would mark a real move in the emancipation of Nigeria from bad leadership.
Lamenting widespread suffering in the land, he blamed it on bad leadership asserting that the country was already blessed such that her citizens should not suffer.
The Ogun State chairman of the Party, Olaposi Oginni, had earlier described Senator Kwankwaso as ‘God-sent’ for the purpose of rescuing Nigeria.
He also extolled Ajadi’s qualities, saying that all along he had been propagating the party positively, and also believed fervently about the unity of Nigeria.
He reiterated that Ajadi has met with notable Nigerians on this same course, including Obas in South-West: Olu-Ibadan, Oni of Ife; Olufi of Gbongan, and just met with the Are-OnaKakafo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams.
