We will tackle insecurity, poverty, VP assures Nigerians

Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has assured Nigerians of more measures to tackle insecurity and poverty in the country.

Addressing newsmen shortly after paying Sallah homage to Sultan of Sokoto on Friday, he said be rest assured of more measures to safeguard the lives and properties of Nigerians.

He also assured that, their government would create more job opportunities to Nigerias teeming youths

While paying homage to the Sultan, Shettima said, the North was facing myriad of challenges, which he said required the support of all and sundry to be surmounted. He reaffirmed their loyalty to traditional institution in the country.

The vice president was accompanied by the Governor of Sokoto and Borno states, Ahmed Aliyu and Babagana Zulum, as well as the former Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammadu Dingyadi and Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.

He advised Governor Aliyu to maintain good relationship with Senator Wamakko who is the APCs leader in the state and the Sultanate Council.

Responding, Sultan Muhammad Saad Abubakar commended the new government for the successes so far recorded. We will support you 100 percent, we will give you our words anytime. Inshaa Allah we will support the government and do whatever it takes to maintain peace in our state and the country, he said.
