2024 Hajj: Eealier preparations determines choice of location in Masha’er – Saudi authorities.

 As the 2023 Hajj exercise gradually comes to a close with the schedule return flight of pilgrims beginning on Thursday, the Saudi Arabia authorities said early preparations by the missions of the various nations, would determine choice of locations at Masha’er for the 2024 Hajj.

The Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq Al Rabiah stated this at a ceremony to mark the end of 2023 Hajj Exercise at Headquarters of the Saudi Hajj and Umrah Ministry in Makkah.

During his speech at the event attended by Heads and Representatives of Hajj Missions in the Kingdom, the Minister applauded all agencies and Hajj missions for their roles in the 2023 exercise and reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to serving the Guests of Allah in the best manner possible by obtaining feedback from them and improving on its services. 

He unveiled the roadmap for the 2024 Hajj which begins immediately with issuance of letters to the countries that announced commencement of preparations and confirmation of their slots for the 2024 Hajj. 

Highlights of the roadmap include: holding of preparatory meetings; September 16th, 2023 – 4th November 2023.

International Hajj Symposium and Exhibition: January 8th, 2024.

Conclusion of Accommodation and Masha’er Contracts: February 25th, 2024. 

Commencement of Visa Issuance: March 1st, 2024.

Closing of Visa Issuance: April 29th, 2024.

Arrival of 1st set of 2024 Pilgrims into Saudi Arabia: 9th May, 2024

The event witnessed the announcement of winners for the 2023 Labbaikum Hajj Services award with Iraq emerging the overall best Hajj Mission for the 2023 Hajj.

Malaysia, Gambia, Bahrain, Singapore, South Africa and Azerbaijan among others were recognized for outstanding performance in various aspects of the Hajj operations.
