The President committed this during an interactive session with South-East leaders in Enugu State  at the weekend. The meeting followed Tinubu’s one-day visit to Enugu, where he commissioned various projects initiated by Governor Peter Mbah’s administration.

According to a statement issued  by the President’s  Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu also promised federal support for developing the Anambra Basin, which holds an estimated 1 billion barrels of crude oil and 30 billion cubic feet of gas.

“Gas is an alternative to petrol; we must invest in it without delay. Together, we will achieve this”, Tinubu stated, adding that collaboration with capable governors was key to progress.

After inaugurating several projects, the president praised Governor Mbah’s innovative development strategies, including the GTC Smart Green School, New Haven/Bisalla Road, the International Conference Center, the Command-and-Control Center, and 150 patrol vehicles equipped with surveillance cameras.

Tinubu also virtually commissioned additional projects from the Enugu State Government House, emphasising that improved security infrastructure would spur economic growth.

“This investment in security demonstrates what is possible when we work together. It shows that increased revenue to States and local governments can drive meaningful development”, he stressed.

The President highlighted unity and collective progress, applauding leaders across party lines. He mentioned Abia State governor, Alex Otti as an example of exemplary leadership. “We are one large family called Nigeria, living in different rooms within the same house. Let’s build this house for today and future generations”, Tinubu concluded.
