…Directs Spokespersons to also not attend
Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 general election, Asíwájú Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has arrived in London, United Kingdom, ahead of a scheduled appearance at the world-leading policy institute, Chattam House, according to an issued statement by the APC Presidential Campaign Council, (PCC).

The Asíwájú, during the appearance, scheduled for December 5, is expected to speak on sundry issues including security, economy and foreign policy of his administration if elected president of Nigeria in 2023.
The Director of Media and Publicity of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Bayo Onanuga, who signed the statement, also reiterated that Tinubu would not appear on Arise News TV programme, which has vigorously been advertised by the organisers.
In another development, the APC Presidential Campaign Council has denied reports that Tinubu was denied a visa by United Kingdom authorities. Onanuga, who disclosed this in the statement, said its candidate is already off to London.
Recall that there had been social media reports that Tinubu was denied a visa to the UK.
Onanuga also took a swipe at Arise Television over its constant broadcast of an advertisement about its scheduled town hall meeting, in which Tinubu had already declined participation.
He said while it is trite that the media has a clear constitutional duty to hold public office holders accountable to the citizens and its role as the watchdog of the society, there is no part of the Constitution, and Section 22, that says a presidential candidate of any political party and least of all, Tinubu must participate in Arise News Town Hall event or any media organised event at all.

According to the statement, the Asíwájú has also warned the campaign spokespersons of the party not to attend any programme on Arise TV owing to its alleged bias.
“We seize this opportunity to warn our spokesmen and supporters to steer clear of this station over its consistent unprofessionalism and bias against our candidate and party”, the statement added.
