President Bola Tinubu has appointed Deputy Controller-General Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the new Head of the Federal Fire Service.

The appointment will take effect from August 14, 2025.

The new appointment comes ahead of the retirement of the current Controller-General, Engr. AbdulGaniyu Jaji Olola, who will be leaving office on August 11 after reaching the age of 60.

Adeyemi, who began his service at the FCT Fire Service before joining the Federal Fire Service, rose to the position of Deputy Controller-General in charge of human resources.

Over the years, he has taken part in all required training programmes and leadership courses, both in Nigeria and abroad.

He has also held several roles within the service and is a member of several professional bodies, such as the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, the Institute of Corporate Administration, the Institute of Public Administration, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management.

The Board in charge of the Fire Service thanked the outgoing chief for his service and leadership over the years.
