The Federal Government has approved a 50% reduction in fares on all passenger train services operated by the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) to cushion transportation costs for Nigerians during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration. This was made known through a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Transportation, Funsho Adebiyi, yesterday. The Nigerian Railway Corporation, (NRC), yesterday commenced its 50% discounted Yuletide train services nationwide, recording a strong passenger turnout, as Nigerians moved early to take advantage of reduced fares for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
