The United States has seized about $6.1 million belonging to Nigeria after a hired arms supplier pleaded guilty to charges that included illegal dealing in military-grade weapons and money laundering, court documents have revealed. US forces rescue American hostage from bandits in Nigeria

The United States (US) forces have rescued an American hostage in Nigeria, its Department of Defense, a.k.a. the Pentagon, said yesterday. An American citizen, Philip Walton, abducted by suspected bandits last week in Niger Republic had been rescued during a high-risk U.S. military raid in Nigeria. The man was abducted in Niger Republic and taken across the border to Nigeria, where US forces freed him without suffering any casualties, it said.
