The Nigerian Senate confirmed the appointment of eight Justices of the Supreme Court at Tuesday’s plenary after a satisfactory report by its Committee. The Supreme Court has upheld the election of Yahaya Bello as the Governor of Kogi State. In its Judgement delivered on Monday, the Apex Court disagreed with the appeal filed on five grounds by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Kogi Governorship Election, Musa Wada. Nigeria’s Supreme Court has struck out the suits filed by Lagos and Ekiti state governments challenging the validity and constitutionality of Virtual court sittings.
