Chief Executive Officer, MultiChoice Nigeria, John Ugbe, has been sworn-in as the Chairman of the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria, (BON). The swearing-in ceremony held yesterday at the Transcorp Hotel in Abuja. At the event, the Director-General of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, (FRCN), Dr. Mansur Liman, was also sworn-in as the organisation’s Vice-Chairman. Multichoice Nigeria Limited (MCN), owner of Nigeria’s satellite televisions’ popular subscription-based platforms, DStv, Gotv, says it has complied with the directives of the tax appeal tribunal, (TAT), by depositing with the FIRS an amount required by the law. North to boycott DSTV as CNG drags MultiChoice before NBC

The Coalition of Northern Groups, (CNG), has threatened that the 19 northern States may enforce a region-wide boycott of DSTV over the failure of its parent company, MultiChoice, to change its position and consider transmitting northern-based television stations. Barely one year after the last subscription fee increase, there are strong indicators that MultiChoice Nigeria will increase the subscription fee across all its DStv and GOtv packages from September, 2021.
