Kaduna: Few days ahead LG election, High Court nullifies el-Rufa’i’s controversial Electoral Law

A Kaduna High Court, presided by Justice Edward Andow, yesterday, declared as nullity Section 22, subsection 5 of the Kaduna State Electoral Law 2021, that was passed by the State House of Assembly and assented by the State governor Nasir Ahmed el-Rufa’i. Lagos: No fresh primary in any council, says APC

The All Progressives Congress, (APC), Lagos State chapter, has said there is no fresh primary schedule for any council in the State . It added that no result from the primaries held in the 57 councils had been cancelled. The Oyo Stategovernment has announced today, Friday, as a public holiday, ahead of the local government election scheduled to hold in the State. The Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission, (KadSIECOM), has officially announced the date for the 2021 Local Government Council elections. KadSIECOM Overseer, Ibrahim Sambo, disclosed this during the Issuance of notice of 2021 Local Government Council General Elections to political parties and stakeholders held at (KADSIECOM) Conference Hall on Monday.
