Low turnout of voters was recorded over the Local Government election in Lagos State yesterday. According to reports, there was a low turnout of voters in many polling units visited in Badagry, Alimosho, Epe, Mushin and Odi-Olowo Local Government Councils. A voter in Awhajigoh Ward, Monday Avoseh, said the low turnout was due to the voter apathy in the Badagry Area. According to him, voters should come out before 3 p.m to cast their votes. Lagos: State Govt. announces restriction of movement for council poll

Lagos State has announced a restriction of movement from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm tomorrow, Saturday, for the local government elections. The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) will conduct elections in the 20 LGAs, 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos. Jigawa to spend N1bn on LG poll

At least N1 billion has been budgeted for the local government election scheduled for June 26, the Jigawa State Independent Electoral Commission (JISIEC). This was disclosed by the JISIEC chairman, Adamu Ibrahim in an interview with newsmen at the weekend.  He, however, failed to give a breakdown of the electoral budget.
