Jigawa to spend N1bn on LG poll

At least N1 billion has been budgeted for the local government election scheduled for June 26, the Jigawa State Independent Electoral Commission (JISIEC). This was disclosed by the JISIEC chairman, Adamu Ibrahim in an interview with newsmen at the weekend.  He, however, failed to give a breakdown of the electoral budget. Coalition cites high fees for boycotting Borno LG elections

A coalition of eight political parties which withdrew from participating in Borno Local Government elections said they were forced to withdraw for lack of fund to pay fees for the election. The political parties are National Rescue Movement (NRM), Action Peoples Party (APP), Young Progressing Party (YPP), BOOT Paty, Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), African Action Congress (AAC), People Redemption Party (PRP) and Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
