Rep. laments influx of displaced herdsmen in Kogi

The lawmaker representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Teejay Yusuf, has raised the alarm over an influx of displaced Fulani herdsmen and other northerners in Kogi State. Yusuf alleged that the presence of the herdsmen posed a danger to his constituency. Ø  Warns against visiting State Kogi State has been classified as “high risk” for COVID-19 because of its failure to acknowledge the existence of the disease, report tests or build isolation centres. The Kogi State government has contracted a consultant to levy every bread baked, with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry saying the levy is to improve the internally-generated revenue, (IGR). However, bakers in the State, on the platform of the Association of Master Bakers and Caterers of Nigeria (AMBCN) told newsmen that the bakers are against the levy. Attah of Igala, Idakwo Michael Ameh Oboni II, is dead. Sources said he died on Thursday morning at Nisa Premier Hospital in Abuja after undergoing a pile operation. The 72-year-old, who was the chairman, Kogi State traditional council, was said to have had a stroke which complicated the procedure.
