Man to die by hanging for killing lover

An Abeokuta High Court on Wednesday sentenced a 39-year-old mechanic, Musiliu Owolabi, to death by hanging for killing his lover, Miss Afusat Idowu. The Chief Judge of Ogun, Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu, convicted Owolabi on a count charge of murder. She held that the prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt that Owolabi was guilty as charged. A High Court in Jos on Friday ordered that a policeman, Ruiya Auta, who allegedly killed a student of the University of Jos, be remanded in a correctional centre.
