A former gubernatorial aspirant in the 2019 election in Zamfara State, Sagir Hamidu, has been killed by bandits along the Abuja-Kaduna expressway. The Late politician had vied for governorship on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC). Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) says one person sustained bullet wound, as gunmen attempted to kidnap two teachers at Osi in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara. The International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor, Karim A. Khan, is seeking the authorisation to investigate the abduction of students in Nigerias northern region, closure of schools, and the persistent failure of the federal and State authorities to end the abduction. The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, (SERAP), made this announcement on Sunday.
